2022 (recap)

What do you mean, you’ve never been to the Blue Ridge Rock Festival?! Putting aside that it’s held at the largest rock venue in the WORLD (Virginia International Speedway), AND it has the lowest general admission, camping, and drink prices of any four day festival (we can verify this, as avid festival goers) the vibe at this festival is pristine. We have never had any issues dealing with staff or other attendees, the camping is awesome, and the lineup is FAN DRIVEN! Blue Ridge runs polls year round, asking who YOU want to see — and with over 300,000 votes there is something there for everyone.

This was the first year at VIR, and minus The Hill (iykyk) we had an amazing time. Aside from the normal first day kind of “getting in the groove of things,” we had an excellent experience dealing with everyone from security to our bartenders in the Rockstar Lounge. Blue Ridge is hands down our favorite event of the year, and the one we look most forward to returning to in 2023.

We *STRONGLY* recommend that if you can camp – you do. Aside from the ease of getting in and out of the festival grounds themselves, the camping-only after party perks make it well worth staying on property!

We made some amazing memories this year – from watching Slaughter to Prevail absolutely DEMOLISH the stage they were on (see what we did there?,) to Slipknot‘s massive set in the rain, and lets not forget the amazing meet and greets and acoustic sets…it’s safe to say this was the best Blue Ridge ever.

Here’s a small selection of our favorite photos from 2022. With 180 bands across six stages, we can’t throw all the photos up here, but as always – there are more on Instagram and Facebook.

*note*

Slipknot had a no-photographers/pro cameras/photo pit clause for their set. Any photos seen here of Slipknot are taken with an iPhone, from the Rockstar pit, and not with a DSLR.
