It’s no secret that we LOVE covering festivals! Whether it’s a small, local one day fest or a national multi day camping adventure — we’re in! Here’s a list of a few of our favorites, both big and small, that we encourage you to attend!
Throwdown at the Campground: held this year in Fruitland Park, Florida (and in Camp Soperton, GA for 2024) this may be our new favorite small fest! With an amazing and friendly staff, some grade A camping areas, and literally the CLEANEST bathrooms we’ve ever seen at a festival, this is one that you have to attend! This year they had performances by Gemini Syndrome, Otherwise, Stitched Up Heart, Adelitas Way, and World Gone Cold along with some great mid and undercard bands! 10/10 would recommend, and we cannot wait to cover them again next year!
Rock on the Hill: In it’s second year, this is one of our local one day fests that we absolutely adore covering. With this year’s headliners including Trapt, Flaw, Scotty Austin and Sponge, if you’re anywhere near Hanover PA this May we insist you join us!
Rock the Mountains: we were excited to be invited to cover this event in 2023! Held in Cumberland, MD, this is a weekend festival with some amazing food and even better music. Very well run and organized – if you’re looking for a smaller fest close to home to try, this is the one! 2023 had an amazing lineup, including Quiet Riot, Drowning Pool, and Nonpoint!
Appalachian Rock Festival: who says you have to travel halfway across the country to hear some awesome music? The Appalachian Rock Fest is a rock/metal festival in Winchester, VA. With a rocking pre party, and a stage full of talents like LYLVC, Koluna, and Breach the Silence we can’t wait to see what they come up with this year!
Brewstock Music Fest: this one is worth the drive! Just a one day fest with two stages ( one indoors and one outside) this is a festival run on every level by people intimately acquainted with the music industry. Not only do they book amazing music (hello? A Killers Confession? Dying Oath? Blackwater Drowning?) it’s also our informal ICoN Pit Crew family reunion. Take a drive to The Rooster in gorgeous Gastonia, NC and join us in July!
Inkcarceration Festival: held in Mansfield, Ohio at the old Reformatory – Inkcarceration is an entire experience unto itself. With two main side-by-side stages, and smaller bands playing in the back on the Space Zebra stage, this is the BEST place we’ve found so far to discover unsigned bands! Make sure you take advantage of the free tours of the old prison, and enjoy a weekend including some of the biggest names in music today! In 2023 you’ll have the pleasure of rocking out to Limp Bizkit, Pantera, and Slipknot with some of our favorite mid cards and openers!
Blue Ridge Rock Festival: as much as we love our festival family, Blue Ridge is the one that is close to our heart. With a combination of music that will suit every taste (with over 150 bands on six stages, we promise you’ll find something to bang your head to), a well-laid out plan at the Virginia International Raceway, staff that are always on-point, and the friendliest group of people we’ve ever had the pleasure of camping with, Blue Ridge is the festival that we count down to every year. If you can camp, do it! The people are friendly, the walk in and out of the festival grounds is fast, the campers get an amazing pre-party and club experience, AND they have the lowest food and drink prices that we have EVER seen. Go check out their page on our site for the latest drops … there’s still at least 30 bands to announce for September!
